Boise Area Stillwater Fly Fishing Report

No real changes on the stillwater front. With summer setting in we should see some decent fishing - especially since the high mountain lakes are opening up. There are literally thousands of options in the backcountry if you're willing to explore a bit and get your boots dirty.

Duck Valley reservoirs are winding down. Moss beds are on the increase with the hellish summer weather and should continue throughout the 'dog days'. Look for these fisheries to pick back up as we get closer towards fall.

If you’re just looking for a nice ego boost, think about taking a drive down to the Hagerman area and hit up Oster Lakes. Fishing is consistent and there’s always a steady number of fresh stockies to pick off.

Fishing for warm water species can be decent this time of year. Brownlee is a good option as are the valley ponds.
