The CDC Rusty Spinner is one of our “go to” patterns on the Owyhee (and several other rivers for that matter). To tie, you’ll need the following:
- Hook: TMC 100 (100BL) or Daiichi 1180 (1190), size 14 to 24
- Thread: Rusty or Brown 8/0
- Tail: Four Micro Fibers (fibettes)
- Abdomen: Rusty Goose Biot
- Thorax: Rusty 0r Mahogany Fine Natural Dubbing
- Wing Casing: Mylar Tinsel
- Wing: White or Light Dun CDC
