Personal Fly Tying Instruction

You bet. We’re not quite into the ‘tying’ season, but it will definitely be here before you know it. If you’re just starting out and you need to cover the basics, or if you’re looking to take your tying abilities to the next level we’ll make sure you’ve got all the tools and resources to succeed.

Beginning this August, feel free to schedule personal fly tying sessions with the Trout Lie tyers. Learn the basics, tried and true local patterns, and proven techniques to tying your own high-quality flies.

We can’t guarantee you’ll be the next Jack Dennis or Rene Harrop, but we can guarantee fly tying will make you a more productive angler. If you’re going to learn, it may as well be from the best!

Our personal instruction sessions are designed not only to ‘teach’ patterns and techniques, but also practical application for area fishing. We’re teaching, discussing, and providing the tools needed to fish successfully.

Likewise, we make the sessions about you. Do you want to learn the basics? Looking for new patterns to fill out your box? Are you intimidated by bullet heads or CDC? You tell us what you want to learn and we’ll design a session specifically tailored to meet your needs.

Weekly evening sessions are now available. Just reserve your seat and we’ll follow up to schedule a time that works best for you.

Sessions will be held at Brewforia on weekday evenings. All tools and materials are provided – but please do feel free to bring your own tools as you’d like. Sessions are limited to one or two people. Cost is $25 per hour session OR $40 for two hours of instruction. You keep our 'example' patterns along with the flies you tie!
